Amy was more than just a colleague to the entire Late Show work family; she was a dear friend and an integral part of the team. Her obituary states, 'Working with Colbert for 16 years was more than a job to Amy. She was adored by her entire Late Show work family, and she will be greatly missed.'

According to her obituary, Amy left Houston for New York City in 2002, beginning a TV career as a production assistant and executive assistant on such shows as Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, The Colbert Report, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She was dedicated to her work and gave it her all, earning the respect and admiration of everyone she worked with.

Her family will always remember Amy's bright smile, infectious laugh, and kind heart. Survivors include her parents, two sisters, and other extended family members.
